Emergency Preparedness
and Push Partner Registry
IntroductionIn a large-scale public health emergency, medications may need to be dispensed to the entire population of Multnomah County within 48 hours. Strategies to quickly and efficiently achieve this goal include Points of Dispensing (PODs) as the primary method of mass distribution of medication to the general public. PRIVATE dispensing operations will be needed to (a) reach certain at-risk (or special needs) populations, (b) reduce the demand on public dispensing sites, and (c) maintain emergency and critical services. The Push Partner Registry supports organizations and large businesses willing to operate a PRIVATE dispensing site for employees, their families, and their clients (in the case of at-risk, or special needs, service providers). Push Partners provide a valuable service to their employees, employee’s families, clients, and the community. Being a Push Partner can help the continuity of your business by protecting employees and their families. And it promotes the mission of organizations that serve special needs clients. Is a PRIVATE dispensing site is right for your organization?Multnomah County Push Partner Program is currently for organizations that serve clients who are unable to or unwilling to come in to a community mass dispensing clinic, and large employers (>1000 local employees). If you would like more information about the Push Partner Registry please see the link below or contact the Multnomah County Health Department Emergency Preparedness Office. The Voluntary Emergency Registry is a list of persons who need help evacuating their home during an emergency, or who would be unable to evacuate without special notification from emergency response personnel. The registry also includes people who would be unable to remain at home without assistance following a disaster. Information in this list will be provided to the Bureau of Emergency Communications (911) and other emergency response personnel from the City of Portland and Gresham and Multnomah County.
The Health Reserve Corps (HRC) is a voluntary unit, made up of local licensed health care professionals who will be called upon to assist in the response to large-scale heath or medical emergencies. The Pocket Guide to Emergency Preparedness
