Our mission:
To ensure that the core values of diversity and quality are integrated
into the daily work of the Health Department.

Our goals:

  • To actively and consciously promote a highly qualified, diverse workforce at all levels.
  • To identify and reduce health disparities using appropriate health status indicators.

Definitions we have created for the Health Department:

Cultural Competence: The application of knowledge that enables appropriate interaction with people who may not look, talk, think, believe, act or live like me.

Diversity: All the ways in which we are different.

  • Diversity creates a positive environment in which we are responsive to the changing needs of our clients and communities.

Quality: the process of measuring & evaluating how well a product or service matches the changing needs of our clients and communities, in order to achieve excellence.

DQT meetings are on the second Thursday of every month from 1pm-4:30pm. For more information, contact Tricia Tillman or Graham Harriman, co-chairs.
